Cull the backlog

Overview

The average backlog is filled with outdated tickets, poorly defined ideas, and unreproducible bugs. In this phase, we will ensure your team has an actionable, appropriately scoped backlog.

This phase will answer the following questions: What are the main “buckets” of work and how is effort allocated? Is the team’s backlog aligned with their mission and stakeholder expectations? What projects should be prioritized and defined? Is there “no regrets” work that the team can take on immediately while larger projects are defined?

Output

Actionable, well-scoped backlog of “no regrets” work complete with specs, designs, and other needed design and product input.

Duration

3-4 weeks — one week to understand the backlog and stakeholder expectations, two to three weeks to define requirements for “no regrets” work.
